uk-writing-contest-graphicThe European Student Think Tank is launching a competition! Students of UK secondary schools are invited to write a 500-word response to a UK-focused article written for the European Student Think Tank. The students who submit the best responses, as judged by our team of UK ambassadors, will have the chance to have their responses published on the EST website, and both the students and their schools will be able to publicise their success.

Suitable articles can be viewed at the following link, which will be updated as more articles are published through December:

Submissions must be made via the following document, giving the name of the student, the contact email for their school, and the response itself. All contact will be between the EST and the school, not with the student directly.

Word count: 450-550 words excluding references where necessary

Deadline for submission: Monday 9th January 2017, 5pm UK time

Winners announced: Sunday 25th January 2017, via email and the EST website

Students are encouraged to read the articles critically and to back up any counter arguments or criticism. The responses are required to be the students’ own work.

This is a great opportunity to engage your students in political debate, to encourage them to develop their own views and for their work to be recognised.
